Excursion 1
SAMLESBURY HALL & CANAL CRUISE
We begin our day with a guided tour of Samlesbury Hall, a fabulous half-timbered black and white medieval house dating back to 1325. We then embark on a 3 hour narrow boat cruise on the Leeds Liverpool Canal passing through delightful countryside and during our cruise enjoy a two course lunch.
Excursion 2
BURY MARKET, EAST LANCASHIRE RAILWAY & GAWTHORPE HALL
This morning we head to Bury and its famous market, voted Britain's best. We then step back in time with a nostalgic trip on a steam train along the East Lancashire Railway to Rawtenstall. Our final stop is Gawthorpe Hall, affectionately known as the 'Downton of the North'.
Excursion 3
RIBBLE VALLEY & OSWALDTWISTLE MILLS
We have a step on guided tour from Oswaldtwistle to enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque Ribble Valley, returning back to the Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping village and garden centre. It is an award winning former weaving mill with over 100 retailers under one roof. After time browsing we sit down to a traditional Lancashire lunch of pie, mushy peas, bread and a cup of tea.
