Midsummer Mountains in Flames

Day 1

TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following the Channel crossing to Calais we complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (D)

Day 2

OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO NIEDERAU
We complete the journey to our resort where we stay for the next five nights with a welcome drink on arrival. (B, D)

Day 3

KUFSTEIN & MIDSUMMER MOUNTAINS IN FLAMES
After breakfast on a scenic drive through the Wilder Kaiser Mountains to the town of Kufstein, often called the 'Pearl of the Tyrol'. Later we continue to Walchsee through the baroque town of St Johann in Tyrol. In the evening we ascend the Hartkaiser gondola lift 1520 meters to the top of the Hartkaiser Mountain. Here we enjoy a barbeque and live music as we watch the spectacle of the lighting of bonfires along the valley as the shortest night of the year falls - a truly breath-taking sight. (B,D)

Day 4

LAKE ACHEN & RATTENBERG
This morning we travel to the fjord-like Lake Achen, whose deep tranquil waters provide an emerald green stage for the mountains. Admire the stunning scenery as we sail across the lake before visiting Gramaital and savouring homemade Kaiserschmarrn, a lightly sweetened pancake whilst taking in the stunning Tyrolean scenery. From here we continue to the town of Rattenberg, famed for its glass production and visit the Kisslinger factory to see the beautiful glasswork produced by hand. (B,D)

Day 5

5 FREE DAY IN NIEDERAU
Enjoy a day at leisure in Niederau. (B, D)

Day 6

INNSBRUCK & SWAROVSKI WORLD OF CRYSTAL SHOP
Today we visit Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol where you will see the main sights including the historic Old Town with the famous Golden Roof and pretty Maria Theresien Strasse on our guided tour. Later we visit the impressive Swarovski Crystal World Shop and learn about the history of the Swarovski family and production, as well as receiving a small glittering gift. (B,D)

Day 7

NIEDERAU TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B, D)

Day 8

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
