Day 1

TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following the Channel crossing to Calais and complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation. (D)

Day 2

OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO UZÈS
We complete the journey south to our resort arriving in time for dinner. (B,D)

Day 3

AVIGNON, ORANGE & CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE
This morning we head to the city of Avignon, set on the banks of the Rhône with dramatic views of its 800 year old medieval ramparts surrounding the magnificent Palais des Papes of which we have an included visit of the palace and gardens. Later we enjoy a 1 hour sightseeing cruise around Avignon before travelling to the roman city of Orange where we visit a winery and have a tour and tasting of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. (B, D)

Day 4

UZÈS
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax in resort. Why not take a stroll into the medieval centre of Uzès where the market traditionally takes place on Wednesday in the picturesque Place aux Herbes. (B, D)

Day 5

CÉVENNES STEAM TRAIN
Today we make the short journey to Anduze where we board the Cévennes Steam Train for a wonderful journey to Saint-Jean-du-Gard. The train passes by the 'Bambouseraie' a woodland renowned for its rare exotic trees and 100 different species of bamboo. We return from Saint-Jean-du-Gard to our hotel by coach. (B,D)

Day 6

PONT DU GARD & NÎMES
Excursion to the ancient Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard, an amazing feat of engineering built more than 2,000 years ago. Here we visit the museum and visitor centre which provides an insight into how the aqueduct was made. We continue to the city of Nîmes which was established by the Romans, with entrance to the Roman ampitheatre included as well as free time to explore. (B,D)

Day 7

UZÈS TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B,D)

Day 8

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
