This fantastic holiday takes us to the beautiful Black Forest region of Germany, the setting for many a Grimm brother’s fairytale with picturesque villages of half-timbered houses dot the landscape. We’ll enjoy two boat trips and a visit to Mainau Island as well as wine tasting and a traditional raclette dinner.

Day 1

TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following the Channel crossing to Calais, we complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation. (D)

Day 2

OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO BAD DURRHEIM
We complete the journey to our hotel in Bad Durrheim in the Black Forest where we stay for the next five nights. (B,D)

Day 3

RHINE FALLS & SCHAFFHAUSEN
Today we head south and into the most northerly region of Switzerland. Here we experience the drama and beauty of the magnificent Rhine Falls as we enjoy a boat trip. We then make our way to the nearby medieval town of Schaffhausen, known as the prettiest town in Switzerland with free time to explore at leisure. (B, D)

Day 4

MAINAU & LAKE CONSTANCE
This morning we drive towards Lake Constance where we visit Mainau Island, known for its botanical gardens, its butterfly house and palm house where we will enjoy a 90 minute guided tour. We then travel the short distance to Constance, a town of great historical relevance to spend some free time there. (B,D)

Day 5

LAKE TITTSEE & TRIBERG
Today's excursion is to the north shore of Lake Titisee, one of Germany's prettiest lakes where we join the 'Titius' - built as a replica of a Roman galley for a 25 minute cruise. We then continue on to the vibrant town of Triberg, known for its traditional wood carving shops and cuckoo clocks with free time to explore at leisure. (B, D)

Day 6

FREE DAY
Enjoy a day at leisure relaxing in our fabulous spa resort, making the most of the leisure facilities or perhaps strolling into the centre of Bad D?rrheim, 10 minutes walk away. (B,D)

Day 7

BAD DURRHEIM TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B,D)

Day 8

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We travel to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
