Day 1
TO ARRAS
Following the Channel crossing to Calais we make our way to Arras where we stay for the next four nights with dinner included this evening. (D)
Day 2
ALBERT & THE SOMME
Today we make our way to the town of Albert where we first visit the Museum of the Somme 1916 for a guided visit to discover some of the history of the Battle of the Somme. A guide then accompanies us on our coach as we visit some key historical sites including Lochnagar Crater, Thiepval Memorial of the Missing and The Newfoundland Park memorial. (B)
Day 3
ARRAS
Enjoys a full day at leisure in Arras. You can easily explore the centre of this historic city from our centrally located hotel. Why not visit The Boves, an underground cave created by quarrying providing a unique walk beneath the city? (B)
Day 4
ST OMER & VIMY RIDGE
Excursion to the charming town of Saint Omer where you will find a magnificent cathedral, an impressive main square, Place Foch and excellent restaurants. After free time here at leisure, we return to Arras via Vimy Ridge where you can take a walk in the Vimy Foundation Centennial Park which sits next to the Canadian National Vimy Memorial. (B)
Day 5
FROM ARRAS
We travel to Calais for the return Channel crossing and complete the journey home. (B)
