Staying in Maastricht, one of the oldest cities in Holland we’ll enjoy visits on two days to the little spa town of Valkenburg which comes alive with the advent of its Christmas markets, with stalls uniquely located inside caves protected from the elements.

Day 1

TO MAASTRICHT
Following our Channel crossing to Calais, we make our way to Maastricht where we stay for the next four nights.

Day 2

VALKENBURG
Enjoy an excursion to explore the Christmas markets in Valkenburg. There are two markets to visit - The Velvet Cave, the smaller of the two and the Municipal Cave which is the largest and oldest underground Christmas market in Europe. (B)

Day 3

MAASTRICHT
Enjoy a day at leisure in the city of Maastricht, one of the oldest in the Netherlands. It is a living and breathing outdoor museum, boasting a medieval fortified centre. (B)

Day 4

VALKENBURG
We enjoy another day in Valkenburg to visit the Christmas markets. Soak up the sights and smells of delicious food and make a start on your Christmas shopping. (B)

Day 5

FROM MAASTRICHT
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
