Highlights of Holland

Day 1

TO LELYSTAD
Following our Channel crossing to Calais, we make our way to Lelystad where we stay for the next four nights. (D)

Day 2

ENKIHUIZEN, MEDEMBLICK & HOORN WITH BOAT CRUISE & STEAM TRAM
Our excursion today sees us cruise across the Houtribdijk, a 27km dike built between 1963 and 1975 which crosses the Ijsselmneer, the largest inland lake in Western Europe. On arrival in Medemblick we have some time here we board a steam tram to Hoorn where we have free time to explore at leisure. Coffee and cake will be served on board either the boat or the tram. Day 3

CHEESE & CLOGS
This morning we visit the charming traditional town of Edam, home to the famous cheese of the same name. We then visit the delightful village of Volendam, the prettiest and most popular old fishing village on the Ijsselmeer. Here you will find a lively harbour and traditional costumes that are still worn today. Later enjoy a visit to a cheese and clog makers with a demonstration and cheese to sample. (B,D)

Day 4

AMSTERDAM
Enjoy an excursion to Amsterdam where the whole day is free for you to do as you choose. Why not take a canal cruise; discover the charming neighbourhood of Jordaan; explore Museumplein, the cultural heart of Amsterdam; enjoy the fabulous independent shops; visit Anne Frank House or simply sit and watch the world go by from a pavement café - the choice is yours! Day 5

FROM LELYSTAD
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
