We visit Lake Chiemsee, also known as the Bavarian Sea which boasts stunning views of the Alps and Lake Ammersee and enjoy a boat trip on both as well as a ride on the historic Chiemsee Railway and a guided tour of Munich, the capital of Bavaria.

Day 1
TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following the Channel crossing to Calais we complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (D)
Day 2
OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO MUNICH
We complete the journey to our hotel in Bad Dürrheim in the Black Forest where we stay for the next four nights. (B, D)
Day 3
MUNICH
Today we explore Munich, the capital of Bavaria on our guided tour. Our first visit is to the Nymphenburg Palace (exterior only) as we stroll through the expansive palace gardens. We then have a city sightseeing tour where we will see historical monuments including the Town Hall, the farmers market and the cathedral. Later the tour takes us past the Olympic Park and the BMW World before you have free time to explore the city centre at leisure. (B, D)
Day 4
AMMERSEE
After breakfast we make our way to beautiful Ammersee, the northernmost pre-alpine lake in Bavaria. Here we enjoy a panoramic cruise to take in the stunning scenery. We later visit Andechs Monastery, Andechs is often referred to as 'Bavaria in miniature'. After some free time here at leisure we continue past Lake Starnberg and travel through charming spots like Seeshaupt, Ambach and Berg before arriving back at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 5
CHIEMSEE, HERRENCHIEMSEE PALACE & PRIEN
Today's excursion is to Lake Chiemsee where we take a boat to Herrensinsel and once on the island, we visit the magnificent Herrenchiemsee Palace built by King Ludwig II and enjoy a guided tour. After the visit to the palace we return to Prien by boat and hop on the historic Cheimsee Railway, a nostalgic train dating back to 1887 which connects the lakeside with the town centre. Enjoy some free time in this charming town at leisure before we visit Aying, a traditional village south of Munich known for its famous Ayinger Brewery where we will stay for dinner at your own cost. Day 6
MUNICH TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B, D)
Day 7
FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We travel to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
