The majestic French Alps are renowned for their stunning scenery, complete with beautiful mountains, rolling foothills and pristine lakes and rivers. On our new tour staying in a 15^th century château visits Annecy, the capital of the Haute-Savoie, Grenoble Chambéry and Aix-les-Bains.

The family run Château des Comtes de Challes is a 15^th century château set in 2 acres of grounds a short walk from the village of Challes-les-Eaux and is ideally located for touring the French Alps.

Day 1

TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following our Channel crossing to Calais we complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (D)

Day 2

OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO CHALLES-LES-EAUX
We depart this morning and continue our journey southwards to Challes-les-Eaux near Chambéry. (B, D)

Day 3

CHALLES-LES-EAUX
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax in resort. (B,D)

Day 4

ANNECY
We travel to Annecy and take time to discover the beautiful old town with its cobbled streets, canal-side paths and wooden bridges decked out in flowers. During the day enjoy a circular cruise on Lake Annecy to take in the spectacular sights. (B,D)

Day 5

GRENOBLE & CHARTREUSE VALLEY
Enjoy an excursion to the charming city of Grenoble, known as the 'Capital of the Alps'. It enjoys a beautiful setting in the Alps and has an old towns with cobbled streets to discover. Why not take a ride on the cable car (cost not included) to Fort de la Bastille for stunning views of the city? We'll also see the Chartreuse Mountain Range, a spectacular region of unspoiled landscapes. (B,D)

Day 6

CHAMBÉRY & AIX LES BAINS
Today we first visit Chambéry, a historical old town where you will find many beautiful medieval buildings. After some time here we continue on to the spa town of Aix-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Bourget, France's largest lake. There are many fine buildings here dating from the Belle Epoque. (B,D)

CHALLES-LES-EAUX
Enjoy another day at leisure to relax in resort. (B,D)

Day 8

CHALLES-LES-EAUX TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B, D)

Day 9

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
