Following the Channel crossing we continue to our overnight half board accommodation in Northern France.
We continue our journey to Lake Como for our second overnight half board accommodation.
After a hearty breakfast, our privately chartered cruise awaits to reveal the delights of Lake Como. Home to George Clooney and Brad & Angelina, pretty pastel villas adorn the shores whilst sleepy medieval villages are dominated by majestic mountain peaks. Our cruise will allow us to disembark briefly at the ancient town of Bellagio. Nestling at the foot of the Alps, historic Bellagio offers a unique view of the Lake from the flower bedecked promenade whilst maybe sampling a local cappuccino! After a fabulous experience on Lake Como our journey continues to the Venetian Riviera and onto the Hotel Europa in Lido, the rest of the day can be spent at leisure relaxing in resort.
Today is spent at leisure in Lido di Jesolo exploring the beaches, enjoying a lazy day in the sun, maybe soaking up the atmosphere in one of the many lively bars in one of the bustling piazzas or browsing for designer clothes in one of the upmarket boutiques on the main strip.
We take the opportunity of a magical full day guided tour by boat exploring the wonderful islands of the Lagoon. first we’ll go to Burano, a quaint fishing village renowned for its beautiful lace, and brightly coloured houses. Our next stop is Murano famous for its ornate glass the world over and here we may be able to witness glass blowing in one of the many small factories on the island with the opportunity to buy souvenirs and presents. Our last stop is the mystical Torcello, an island of glittering Byzantine mosaics before returning back to Lido di Jesolo.
Today we’ll enjoy a fabulous full day fully guided excursion to the spectacular valley north of Venice, known as the Prosecco region. We’ll enjoy a tasting of the famous sparkling wine that takes its name from the white grape that grows over the lush rolling hills and visit the family run ‘Le Bertole’ vineyard in Valdobbiene. We then continue to the picturesque university town of Padua, the setting of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, with its Renaissance squares, Roman ruins and medieval palaces. The cobbled streets of the medieval old town are lined with antique shops and the marketplaces are bursting with boutiques, cafés and restaurants to explore.
An unforgettable day awaits! Time to visit the fabulous city of Venice. Set on hundreds of inter connecting islands, to many, Venice is considered the prize of Europe, from the majestic spires and domes of the many churches and basilicas that tower over the bustling piazzas, to the tranquil network of canals festooned with gondolas weaving their way through the city. There will be plenty of time to explore the sights such as the Doge’s palace, St Marks Square, the Bridge of Sighs and of course the Rialto Bridge to name but a few! Private boat transfer is included
At leisure in Lido. On Friday, for those who love to browse, the weekly market in Jesolo old town is bursting with around 200 lively stalls selling everything from fine Italian antiques to local fresh fruit and delicious cheese.
We bid farewell to Lido and retrace our steps back to Lake Como for overnight half board accommodation.
