Following the Channel crossing we continue to our overnight half board accommodation in Gelsenkirchen.
After breakfast we drive via the most scenic section of the Rhine Gorge en-route to our first holiday base Wurzburg.
After breakfast we set off for a boat cruise to Veitshochheim and its famous Rokkoko Gardens which is populated by over 200 sandstone sculptures of gods, animals and allegorical figures. This afternoon we take a guided tour of the UNESCO world heritage Residence Palace, the building embodies the attainments of Western architecture in a French chateau and Viennese baroque style.
Full day tour to city of Nuremburg take time to discover the Old Town, the castle, the fountains, the wells, the city’s churches and art treasures as well as the city’s colourful past and cosmopolitan present.
Today we travel to medieval Rothenberg on Germany’s Romantic Road en-route to our second base Ulm – famed for being the birthplace of Albert Einstein.
After breakfast we take a guided city walking tour of Ulm to take in the charms of this historic and picturesque old city including the Minster. This afternoon we take a leisurely cruise on the River Danube.
Today’s highlight is a guided visit to the world-famous Steiff museum – home of the “Teddy Bear”. We return to Ulm via Wiblingen famed for its cloister and Library Hall, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture.
We travel to our overnight half board accommodation in Gelsenkirchen.
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home.
